I'm a german girl living for 3 month in Japan. Here I have been in a school to learn Japanese a bit. Right now I#m doing an Internship for 1 month.

So here is the next Tempel / Shrine.
It is called Saikouji. Ryu-san told me :D Glad that he helped me!
One special thing about this complex of buildings is, that it is both a tempel and a shrine.
It is not so much combined as the Tôshogu in Nikko but you can find the connection very easily.
When you try to enter the tempel (of course it isn't allowed) you can see a little torii and a shrine to your right side:

A torii is to show everyone that the area after it, is sacred. Infront of that little shrine you are allowed to pray.
Normally on big shrines you throw money (not a big among) into a box. After that you are doing 2 bows and 2 claps. But don't forget to hold the last clap! That is the time when you have to pray :)
And don't forget to wash your hands and your mouth to clean your soul before you go though a torii and enter a very big shrine!
