Can you remember the first construction of the Kazariyama in the Kamikawabata shopping center?

Today another, of a total of 4, is being built, which stays in the Riverain shopping center to view. The third will be in the Kushida Shrine. About 20 men are participate in this construction, which lasts 4 days. 10 of them are helper. We were there and watched.

The special feature of this construction is, that it completely held by ropes. No nails are used. Today, the lower, but important part of the Kazariyama is being built. It has to hold a heavy construction, which will be mounted the next days. All in all, 4 ropes are used, 2 at the front- and 2 at the backside. My boss told me, the total weight of the ropes amounts between 1500 and 2000 kilogram. It depends on the size of the Kazariyama. Further, in contrast to the previous years, there are two to be viewed front-sides.

In order to avoid that the Kazariyama fall over, wires hold it from the ceiling.

	This picture is from Wednesday. The dolls are mounted. It is really high! I would have never thought, that it would be so big.
	one day later... the Kazariyama is already ready, it only missing the lower part...
	Friday morning. The Kazariyama in all its splendor. This Sunday, the priest will be consecrated it. My manager told me, the Kazariyama is of course the same before and after the consecration, but the significance for the people changes enormously.
	The consecrated Kazariyama. On the first floor there are nice cafes where you can sit and enjoy the Kazariyama. It will stay there the whole year.
